Heavyweight boxer Jared «Big Baby» Anderson, who has been labeled the future champion by notable figures like Tyson Fury, is in the media spotlight after being arrested in Ohio. Authorities reported that Anderson was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, and a gun was found in his vehicle.

The arrest took place in Oregon, Ohio, shortly after 1 a.m., when a police officer pulled Anderson over for speeding. According to the Oregon Police Department (OH), the officer noticed that Anderson was driving at 55 mph in a 40 mph speed limit zone.

During the stop, the officer detected a faint odor of burnt marijuana and alcohol on Anderson’s breath. An open bottle of Don Julio tequila was also observed in the boxer’s car.

Authorities administered a blood alcohol content test, which resulted in a reading of .038, below the legal limit of .08. However, during the vehicle search, a firearm was found in the glove compartment.

23-year-old Anderson faces two charges: improper handling of firearms in a motor vehicle and operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI), the latter used when someone is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

This incident comes shortly after Tyson Fury praised Anderson as the next big star in the heavyweight division. Fury expressed his confidence in the young boxer with a record of 16-0 (15 KOs), calling him «the future champion» and «the heir to the throne.»

Jared Anderson, whose boxing journey dates back to his teenage years, has garnered numerous championships, from the National Elite Championship to the National Golden Gloves. His last fight against Andrii Rudenko in August ended with a technical knockout victory.

This incident could have an impact on Anderson’s promising career, as he now faces the legal consequences of his arrest in Ohio.
